Salted Caramel Chocolate Bars

If you’re not full to the brim of Halloween candies, then we’ve got just the thing for you! These Salted Chocolate Caramel Bars made with Stirling Creamery Butter taste even better than they look…and they look pretty darn good! This recipe is by baker James Tenenhouse, who says that “they have been my go to recipe for when guests come over, or I need to whip something up fast. They are quite easy and so unbelievably delicious!”. And we certainly agree with him. The bars are made with a shortbread crust base topped with chewy and gooey caramel and a rich chocolate coating, sprinkled lightly with salt…

These are the perfect snack to bring into the office and spoil your colleagues with, or have lying around the house for when friends pop in unannounced. You can freeze them too, so there’s always plenty to go round! Here’s what you’ll need…

Shortbread Crust:

1 cup All-purpose flour

1/4 cup Granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted Stirling Butter, cold and diced

Caramel:

1/2 cup Sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup Light brown sugar

1/2 cup Unsalted  Stirling butter

2 tbsp Corn Syrup

Chocolate:

1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tbsp Unsalted Stirling butter 

Coarse sea salt (to taste)
