Bourbon Butter Tarts

Happy New Year!

2017 has come in with a bang – and we’re excited for the year ahead. But forget resolutions – we’re setting goals instead! Our number one mission for this year is to bake, bake, bake. That is nothing new for us here at Stirling Creamery, but here’s the twist – we’re aiming to create something new, different or that we haven’t ever made before each week.

Following on from the 2016 Butter Tart Festival (our fave event of the year!) we were inspired to kick things off with this twist on a classic: Bourbon Butter Tarts!

Here’s What You’ll Need: 

Crust:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 cup Stirling Creamery Unsalted Butter, cold and chopped

Filling:

3 large eggs

2 1/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup Stirling Unsalted Butter, melted

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 1/2 tsp vanilla paste

2 tsp bourbon

1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
